The Dovenschmidt Quarterly
The main reason to launch The Dovenschmidt Quarterly (DQ) is the need for a platform to analyse and discuss corporate structures and developments. The time has come for alternative approaches that will shed new light on the origins of international corporate issues, and their ensuing problems and challenges. The past two decades show that companies with a traditional structure (corporations with stockholder activism or active stakeholders) are unable to adjust sufficiently to changing social demands. The demands on corporations are changing as our society is transcending from a primarily economically driven society to a socially sustainable one. The new standard for “business as usual” of corporate policies will be the balance between social, environmental and economic dimensions and concerns. This trend is known as sustainable development which translates to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in business.
